How is the market doing?
  • Average house prices have surged by £14,000, or 8.8 per cent in a single year, rising at their fastest pace since 2010 (Nationwide house price index)
  • January also marked the 13th consecutive monthly rise in property values reflecting a rebound in consumer confidence (Nationwide) Average property values have also risen by no less than 0.7 per cent each month since last July.
  • According to Adzuna – Salford is the 8th best place in the country to get the most value for your money if you’re buying a home (Aug 2013)
  • Manchester has beaten London to be named the UK city with the strongest house price growth in 2013, with property values up 21% over the year (Nationwide).  Average prices in the "city of Manchester" jumped 21% in 2013 to an average of £209,627.
Best practice when you own a property – Maintenance and Compliance
Owning a property should always be an asset. Maintenance is key to ensuring rising values, reduce the incidence of unplanned repairs and that your viewer sees the place sparkle.
After many years of experience you should always plan to routinely service heaters, plan repainting, re-silicone and making good blemishes. There is always a struggle to balance between return on investment and presenting a show apartment but we actually mean fixing stuff that is broken.
